P003 → Scintille (Sparks)
with Anna Bonomi (2024)

‘Scintille’ was a collaboration between designer and artist Matilde Stolfa, illustrator and artist Anna Bonomi during Bienno Borgo Artisti 2.0 in the village of Bienno, located in the mountains of Northern Italy.

The project explores how relationships form and grow, starting from serendipity, a fortunate moment of encounter, to consciously building something together and nurturing it. This concept is explored through a site specific installation activated through participatory moments in which the public is invited to explore the themes of encounters and relationships through drawing.

Partecipants enter the vibrant house from two opposing entrances, equipped with markers to playfully create visual profiles of one another. The act of drawing each other is engaging, fun, and deceptively simple, yet it fosters a surprising intimacy : being drawn makes one feel unexpectedly vulnerable, while drawing allows one to truly see the other.

The installation features a small base with an octagonal plan, the structure is made of wood and the walls are made of hand painted textile, the motifs of the walls recall elements of the village. The installation was placed in Parada, an exhibition space in Bienno, and it was feasible for people to enter and interact with during the Mostra Mercato Bienno and Parada Art event.
